Kavkazi Jewish History and Culture

As a member of an ethnic Persian-Jewish minority from the Caucasus, I started thinking about ways to utilize social media to create an online space for members of our community. We now have a space in which members of our ethnic and religious minority, including academics, artists, and writers, can share articles, academic papers, videos, and historical photos to engage with our shared heritage.

Silk Road Dance Company

I was a full time member of Silk Road Dance Company (SRDC) and am still involved with the organization to this day. SRDC is a non-profit dance troupe which aims to bring about “cultural understanding through beauty and delight.”

Some notable performances I’ve given: Embassy of Azerbaijan, Embassy of Tajikistan, Embassy of Georgia, the Residence of the Japanese Ambassador to the United States, the Andrew W. Mellon auditorium, the National Museum of Women in the Arts, and the Tirgan Persian Festival in Toronto, Canada (pictured above, 2017).

Sephardic Heritage International - DC

Since 2015, I have been involved with event planning and organizing for SHIN-DC. Working alongside Founder Afraim Katzir, I have helped to plan events such as the Annual Nowruz party, Annual Mimouna Celebration Brunch, and other events. Most notably, I created an exhibit at the Embassy of Greek, where scholar Dr. Devin E. Naar gave a presentation on the Jews in Salonica, Greece. I have also held cooking demonstrations at community centers.
